About

The Commons Revival is bridging the gap between the thousands of dormant and under-used community gathering spaces throughout America, and the ever-growing need for communal gathering and access to space. We are the only national organization focused on empowering existing and potential small community centers.

The Commons Revival believes that access to gathering spaces is essential to the vital community-building work that will heal our society. We are re-imaging what the modern community center looks like, while bringing back the ethos of The Commons - shared space for people to find connection, friendship, and celebration.

The Commons Revival offers research, education, and training on community development models that can breath life back into public spaces. As we grow, we aim to provide research-backed pathways to re-invigorate existing community centers, and pathways to re-imagine dormant and unsustainable buildings (often affiliated with churches or fraternal entities with declining membership).

Our core values are: Reciprocity, Shared Responsibility, Hospitality, Cooperation, and Giving.
